Starting to experiment with some monotypes inspired by Richard Diebenkorn’s Ocean Park series. I have a drawing that i put under the plexiglass, then I apply ink to the plexiglass sticking to my drawing as best as I can, then running the plate through the press. The fun of a monotype is its the best of both worlds; printmaking and painting. It’s a really fun way to experiment with mark making and get interesting and unexpected results. I’m looking forward to working on lots more of these.
